Turkey offers operating rights for Dereiçi hydropower plant

Turkey’s Privatization Administration (OIB) has launched the sale of the 400 kW Dereiçi hydropower plant in the northeastern province of Kars.

Bids for the operating rights of the channel-type plant on the Kars stream and all associated infrastructure are invited by 28 December, according to a notice published on the website of the OIB. The plant, which is equipped with two 200 kW horizontal Francis turbines and generates average annual output of 800 MWh, was put into operation in 1949.

To participate in the tender interested legal entities and consortia must purchase the Tender Specifications and the Introductory Document and sign a Confidentiality Agreement that can be downloaded from the website of the OIB. In the case of a bid by a joint venture, it is sufficient for one of the joint venture members to obtain the Tender Specification and Information Document, though each member of the joint venture group must sign a separate Confidentiality Agreement. A “Receipt Certificate” will be delivered upon payment of a tender fee of TL 5000 to the account of the OIB held at T. Vakiflar Bankasi T.A.O. Central Branch (A/c no.: TR22 0001 5001 5800 7287 5506 67) with accompanying note: Name/Title of the Investor to Participate in the Tender and Tender Specification and Promotional Document Fee for Dereiçi HEPP. Interested bidders are also required to provide a bid bond in the amount of TL 500 000 to be paid to the account of the Privatization Administration held at T. Vakiflar Bankasi T.A.O (Account No: TR20 0001 5001 5800 7282 8575 52). The transfer of operating rights of the hydro powerplant to companies that are legally registered in foreign countries according to the laws of their own countries and to companies with foreign capital established in Turkey are subject to the provisions of the current Foreign Direct Investments Law, Land Registry Law, Electricity Market Legislation and other relevant legislation.
