The project, which is to be developed on the river Barandoo, a right bank tributary of the Indus, in District Torghar, 173 km from Peshawar and 230 km from Islamabad, is to be funded by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through the Provincial Annual Development Programme.
The scope of works includes civil works, electro-mechanical plant and equipment, hydraulic steel structures and associated transmission lines. The civil works include, but are not limited to, the weir, intake, conduit, headrace tunnel, surge tank, penstock’s anchor and thrust blocks, powerhouse and associated structures/facilities, as well as colony facilities and access roads.
The transmission component comprises 11 kV double circuit transmission lines with an aggregate length of 43 km, and a 400/230 V distribution system with a total length of around 60 km. The project is to be completed in 36 months.
Bidding is open to all eligible bidders. Local bidders must have a valid license from Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category “CA-No Limit”. A foreign bidder is entitled to bid only in a joint venture with a Pakistan-based contractor in accordance with the relevant provisions of the bidding documents.
Bidders must be registered with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in accordance with the relevant provisions of the bidding documents.
Bidders may obtain further information from, inspect at and acquire the bidding documents from the office of PEDO, or can download from https://pedokp.gov.pk/Main/tenders, upon submission of a written application along with a non-refundable fee of PKR 20 000/- only in the form of Deposit at Call from a scheduled Bank of Pakistan in favour of the CEO of PEDO.
Bids must be delivered to the address below at, or before, 14:00 hours, on 18 October. The bidders must upload their technical and financial proposals in PDF format at https://etender.pedo.pk/, in addition to the hard copy submission. If the website is inaccessible, the bidders must submit a PDF copy of their proposal, including a password-protected financial proposal, on a USB key, at the time of bid submission.
