(the ‘Sponsors’) are developing a hydropower project, which will have a total installed capacity of 195 MW, on the Araza river in the Cusco region of Peru, (Quispicancha province, Marcapata y Camanti district). The Araza Hydro Power Plant project, will consist of three hydropower plants: In preparation for the competitive tendering process scheduled to begin in May 2021, the Sponsors would like to invite eligible firms to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for carrying out the works necessary for the implementation of the Araza project.

ARAZA HYDRO POWER PLANT

EDF Perú S.A.C. and Electro Araza S.A.C. (the ‘Sponsors’) are developing a hydropower project, which will have a total installed capacity of 195 MW, on the Araza river in the Cusco region of Peru, (Quispicancha province, Marcapata y Camanti district).

The development, called Araza Hydro Power Plant project, will consist of three hydropower plants:

Limacpunco (a run-of-river hydro project). The installed capacity will be 35 MW (2 × 17.5 MW), using a net head of 237.1 m and a design discharge of 17 m3/s.

Ttio (a hydro-peaking project). The installed capacity will be 80 MW (3 × 26.7 MW), using a net head of 303 m and a design discharge of 30 m3/s.

Capiri (a hydro-peaking project). The installed capacity will be 80 MW (3 × 26.7 MW), using a net head of 306 m and a design discharge of 30 m3/s.

In preparation for the competitive tendering process scheduled to begin in May 2021, the Sponsors would like to invite eligible firms to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for carrying out the works necessary for the implementation of the Araza project.

The works for this project will be divided into three packages:

  • Package 01 covers the upstream works (intake structures, Ttio regulating pond, access roads and bridges…) and tunneling works. Hydromechanical equipment and underground steel lining are included.
  • Package 02 covers the downstream works (water-to-wire equipment, powerhouse civil works…) and the three substations for each powerhouse (equipment and civil works).
  • Package 03 covers the transmission lines only, without the substations.

The Sponsors will seek capable and reliable interested parties with technical experience in the construction of a hydropower project with a minimum total installed capacity of 100 MW.

Interested firms may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, but should indicate clearly whether the association is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub-consultancy. In the case of a joint venture, all the partners shall be jointly and severally liable for the entire contract, if selected.

Expressions of interest, in English, must be delivered in writing, in a sealed envelope, to the address below (in person, or by mail) by 21 January, and the pre-qualification documents will be available on 11January.
