The Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB), which promotes private sector participation in the power sector on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, invites expressions of interest by 30 June from qualified consultants for two assignments related to the development of hydropower projects.
The assignments, which are to be financed from a Technical Assistance Grant from the French Development Agency, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), comprise: developing a mechanism for tariff-based bidding of hydropower projects; and, a review of feasibility studies for hydropower projects.
Bidders to be selected for the assignments should be a consultant firm/JV with experience in the preparation of internationally recognized comprehensive request for proposal(s)/ tender documents for awarding hydropower projects through international competitive bidding. They should also have experience in the monitoring and review of feasibility studies for hydropower projects to make them bankable and affordable through local and foreign experts with knowledge in hydropower (design and execution), as well as in general issues (economic and financial, monitoring and evaluation, environmental and social, national and international due diligences, procurement and so on). International firms may join with Pakistani firms to address the local expert component.
