Pre-qualification and technical bids are sought by 29 May 2024 from eligible Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors for the design, engineering, model testing, procurement, manufacturing, packing, insurance, supply, transportation to site, storage, installation, erection, testing and commissioning, trial operation and performance guarantee tests of the equipment from the main inlet valve to the LV terminal connection of the generator/motor transformer on an EPC basis on a firm and fixed price up to the completion of the project.
The scope of supply is divided up into two packages. Package A covers the electro-mechanical equipment from the main inlet valve (MIV) to the LV terminal connection of generator transformer, broadly consisting of the MIV and its associated equipment, five 300 MW and two 150 MW fixed speed pump turbines and auxiliaries, generator – motor, and its auxiliaries, governors, Static Excitation System, Static Frequency Converter (SFC), Starting Bus system connecting to all machines with SPBD including isolators, CLR and VCB’s suitable for back to back and SFC starting modes, Phase Reversal Disconnector Switches (PRDS), Isolated Phase Bus Ducts (IPBDs), associated LV and MV switchgear, SCADA, instrumentation, auxiliaries, controls and protection, special interconnecting cables and accessories including supply of spare parts. Package B covers the electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant, including all associated supporting structures and interfaces with the scope of Package A. The first unit is to be commissioned within 24 months of the Letter of Award and the last by 30 months.
