The Tamakoshi run-of-river project, which will cost an estimated US$ 165 million, is to be financed by a sovereign-backed loan of US$ 112 million from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and counterpart funds from the Government of Nepal.
Supplemental Environmental and Social Documentation
EOIs are sought from consultancy firms to prepare Supplemental Environmental and Social Documentation (SESD). The consulting services are required to strengthen the existing environmental and social studies to ensure the project meets the requirements of the AIIB’s Environmental and Social Policy. The scope of services include: restructuring of the Environmental Management Action Plan and preparation of supplemental primary impacts assessments; local employment strategy; pollution control strategy; public health and safety strategy; environmental flows and ecosystem services; natural hazards assessments; and, land acquisition and livelihood plans. Biodiversity Action Plan
EOIs are sought from consultancy firms to prepare a Biodiversity Action Plan. The consulting services includes preparation of the Biodiversity Action Plan that outlines the project’s overall biodiversity strategy, including goals and objectives for mitigating and managing impacts on biodiversity around the project location. The overall scope of services includes: critical habitat assessment; consultation and partnership building strategy; mitigation strategy including reforestation strategy and aquatic biodiversity; and, Biodiversity Action Plan.
