Bids are invited by 14 November for the modernization works, which are aimed at extending the plant’s equipment and facilities for a new operating cycle of a minimum of 30 years, increasing the operating range and the efficiency of both units and implicitly the total yield of the plant, as well as installation of an automatic control system.
The contract, with an estimated value, excluding VAT, of €106.45 million, is to be awarded through a competitive tender process with negotiation, according to a procurement notice published on 17 October on the website of the EU procurement platform, TED. The winner will be declared based on a scoring system, with the highest weight to be given to the maximum guaranteed power of the turbine.
The work is envisaged to take 60 months from contract signing. The Bradisor plant, which is located on the river Lotru in Vâlcea County, has been operational since 1982.
