Rehabilitation of the 17 MW run-of-river station located on Ranolia Khwar, a tributary of Dubair Khwar, in the district of Kohistan, is to be co-financed by the Asian Development Bank. The plant, which was commissioned in September 2021, was severely damaged by major flash floods in August 2022, which devastated the entire valley along Ranolia Khwar. The weir structure was completely washed away while the structure and machinery in the powerhouse was heavily damaged.
The services of an engineering consulting firm are required to undertake field surveys; assess the extent of damages; design and produce drawings along with quantification and cost estimates for the works to be executed; preparation of bidding documents for the award of construction contracts; supervision of construction activities; and contract administration/management. A firm/joint venture of firms shall be selected for the services under a Quality and Cost based selection (QCBS) method and procedures described in the RFP. The proposal should be framed for an implementation period of 24 months and Defect Liability Period of 12 months.
