The run-of-river facility, which is equipped with five 20 MW units, was built in stages in the 1980s and the 1990s. The first three units were installed in 1980. Another 20 MW unit was added in 1986 and the fifth 20 MW unit was installed in 1992.

The bid must be delivered to and registered with the Procurement Department of EGENCO, Chayamba Building, Floor Number 4, P.O. Box 1567, Blantyre at or before 14.00 hours local time on 28 July. Electronic submission will not be permitted.
