The 207 MW run-of-river project is planned to be developed on the river Swat under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hydropower and Renewable Energy Development Project with funding from the World Bank. The scope of civil works comprises the river diversion and cofferdams, weir, desander chambers, power intake, tunnels (headrace, tailrace, adits, access, vertical pressure shaft), surge tank, underground powerhouse cavern and associated structure, temporary and permanent bridges, temporary and permanent access roads, colony and control buildings and utility services (water supply, water treatment, electricity). The contracted works will also require the design, supply, installation and testing of the hydraulic steel structure including gates, stop log, trash racks, steel liner/vertical shaft and manifold. Construction duration shall be 48 months. It is expected that Invitation to Bid will be issued in July 2023. Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Procurement in Investment Projects Financing” Fourth Edition, November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”).
A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Pakistan Rupee 30 000 through Pay Order or Bank Draft drawn on a scheduled bank of Pakistan in favour of the Head PMO Construction of 157 MW Madyan.
