Afghanistan’s National Procurement Authority (NPA), on behalf of the country’s state power utility Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), invites sealed bids by 25 April from eligible bidders for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical and auxiliary equipment for the overhaul of unit 2 of the Naghlu hydropower plant on the river Kabul.
The contracted works are to be financed from the proceeds of grant funds provided to the Government of Afghanistan by the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund, which is administered by the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA), within the framework of the Naghlu hydropower rehabilitation project.
Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 (revised July 2014), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 120 000, which should be valid for 28 days beyond the bid validity period of 148 days. Interested bidders should submit a written application to NPA’s office at the address below to obtain the bidding documents in the form of a CD/DVD or Flash Memory, free of cost.
