A contractor is sought to continue reconstruction works of units KHA05 and KHA06 either using new equipment (a new Kaplan runner and auxiliaries, new generator stator and new control equipment), or using the equipment manufactured by Russia’s PJSC Power Machines, which was delivered in 2019, in addition to new generator stators and control equipment.
The revamping of KHA05 and KHA06 includes the development of a new project or the modification of the existing one, as far as possible based on the reconstruction solutions that were employed for unit KHA07, which was rebuilt between 2014 and 2018.
The scope of work shall include either the supply of entirely new equipment, or in case of the variation offer using equipment supplied by PJSC Power Machines, as well as construction works, dismantling, assembly, testing and commissioning of all equipment for the completion of the works. The reconstructed units must comply to TSO requirements, regulation of EU 2016/631, and all supplied equipment and materials shall correspond to requirements of directive 2006/42/EC of the EC on machinery requirements or have CE marking.
The upgrade of the two units is scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2030. Work on the units is to take 18 months each and must be done sequentially.
Kegums HES-2, which was built from 1976 to 1979, has three turbine-generating sets. Owing to damage to the blade rotation mechanism, the Kaplan turbines of all three units were converted to propeller-type turbines between 1981-1982.
