Rehabilitation of the Iron Gate 1 Shiplock in Romania

One of the largest hydro refurbishment schemes to take place in recent years in Europe has been the Iron Gates 1 scheme, on the border between Serbia and Romania. This project has included an overhaul of the shiplock on the Romanian side, including the provision of a new lifting gate and associated steelworks. The scheme, now nearing completion, is described here.
