Non-intrusive method to measure discharge in challenging Alpine conditions

Alpine rivers are characterized by steep slopes, coarse bed material, high velocities and turbulence. Under these conditions, it is difficult to measure their discharge. In the work described in this paper, the authors continuously measured the discharge at the outlet of the Oberletsch glacier in Switzerland, by using a non-intrusive method based on images.
