Cross-border trading of hydropower is playing a key role in a number of Asian countries, in maximizing the use of resources and enhancing regional economic development. A country with much experience in this respect is Laos, where power exports to Thailand have been under way for some years. This paper reviews legal and contractual aspects of power trading with Laos.
