Slovenia has a very active programme of hydro development, and aims to increase the share of hydro in the country’s total energy mix from 45 to 64 per cent by 2020. The country has substantial potential on four major rivers, and the increased use of hydro will help the country to meet its Kyoto Protocol objectives.
