Aqua~Media International Ltd is the publisher of The International Journal on Hydropower and Dams, and the organizer of the HYDRO, ASIA and AFRICA event series.
Ghana is an enthusiastic local partner for our AFRICA conference. The country has experience to share of large-scale dams and hydro plants in operation (Kpong, Akosombo and Bui), mini and micro hydro schemes, floating solar hydro at Bui, with plans for upgrading FPV to a larger scale. Our African regional events have progressively moved around the continent (Ethiopia in 2013, Morocco in 2017, Namibia in 2019 and Uganda in 2023). It is now the turn of a West African nation to be host country. Delegates will hear of Ghana’s future plans, including studies for pumped storage, more FPV and more conventional hydro
Themes will include civil engineering and dam construction, safety and cyber security, social and environmental concerns, challenging schemes, multipurpose development, rural electrification, and training and capacity building, among many others.
AFRICA 2025 will take place at the Labadi Beach Resort, Accra, Ghana, on 8 to 10 July 2025. It will be the fifth in the AFRICA regional conference series, with previous events having been held in Ethiopia, Morocco, Namibia and Uganda.
