Innovative gate rail repairs without the need for dewatering

When repairs to embedded parts of gates are necessary, the first step is often to dewater an area, using existing maintenance equipment such as stoplogs or temporary structures, that have been specifically designed, manufactured and installed. For cases where the water flow cannot be interrupted, no immediate solutions are available and very specific approaches must be developed. Among possible options, the design of a dedicated repair tool may be used for the rehabilitation. This paper describes the development and implementation of repair works where dewatering was not possible.
