Bids are sought under a single stage, two-envelope bidding system through international competitive bidding for the rehabilitation of the damaged penstock, which is partly underground and partly over ground, through a trenchless rehabilitation method involving lining the existing penstock using a combination of glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) and carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP), on a turnkey and design-build basis at an estimated cost of US$ 22 million, according to the tender notice published on NEEPCO’s website on 18 March.
Construction of the run-of-river project has been delayed as a result of floods and landslides that occurred in 2017. IndSTT and CUIRE were appointed by NEEPCO as the project’s front end engineering consultant. The tender notice can be viewed at www.neepco.co.in/sites/default/files/tender/200320190100-1889.pdf.
