With the transition of the energy industry towards reducing US greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, there is a renewed interest in the hydro projects. The USA has thousands of non-powered dams waiting to be harnessed, with projects requiring no new dams. Their development comes with little or no supply chain risk, ensuring a smooth implementation process. Beyond its technical merits and exceptional longevity, these projects contribute to local economic development by creating job opportunities and fostering community growth.
