The Rellswerk pumped-storage plant, scheduled to go ahead in Austria next year, will be integrated within an existing hydropower system. At the feasibility study stage, a number of studies were carried out regarding the machinery type to be selected, to assess not only efficiency, but also the influence of the headrace of the existing Lunersee hydraulic system.
