Erosion resistant coatings for Francis runners and guidevanes

A new production method has been developed to apply a tungsten carbide based coating to Francis turbine runners and guidevanes. The turbine was successfully operated at a maximum sediment concentration and sediment load of 20 g/l and 240 kg/s respectively.
